Insured retirees in Curaçao live longer than in the Netherlands

Life expectancy of those insured with a pension in Curaçao is higher than in the Netherlands, according to research done by Buck Consultants. Buck combined the data of those insured with pension insurance in Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten and Curaçao and compared them with the figures from the Netherlands. In general, life expectancy in Holland is higher, on average 83 years for women and 79 years for men. Curaçao women in general live up to 80 years and men up to 73 years. However, among those who have retirement insurance this is different; women in Curaçao can reach 85 years and men 81 years, thus slightly higher than those in Holland. Furthermore, the investigation revealed that the life expectancy in Curaçao has increased in the last 10 years, with an average of a 3 year increase.
